Safely Turn OFF Equipment
Each piece of gear at 7 Brew locations features power switches to turn ON and OFF equipment. Understanding when and how to properly power off equipment during routine cleaning or in the event of an emergency is important. Review the guide below to safely turn off on site equipment.
Power Switch Review
Example power switch.
All power switches, whether they're a knob or flat switch, utilize indicator marks to indicate ON (Closed) and OFF (Open) positions:
- CLOSED Circuit = Power is flowing through the switch, thus powering the equipment.
- Indicated by the symbol "I".
- Linea PB Espresso Machine:
- Indicated by positions 1 and 2.
- Mazzer Grinders:
- Illuminated Indicator Light
- OPEN Circuit = Power is stopped back at the switch.
- Indicated by the symbol "O".
- Linea PB Espresso Machine:
- Indicated by position "O".
Think a draw bridge over a canal... When the bridge is lowered/CLOSED, traffic (or in our case, electricity) may travel across the bridge!

- Locate Power Switch:
- Rotate knob to OFF "0" position.
- Power Switch - Linea PB
Power switch knob is rotated to the OFF "0" position.
- In addition to turning off power to the espresso machine. It may also be necessary to turn off water supply:
- Located underneath each espresso machine is a shut off valve.
- Trace water line back to espresso machine pump to ensure the correct water line is being shut off!
- The espresso and decaf grinder(s) utilize a knob style switch.
